Dusseldorf On Tuesday evening, the future boss of “Bayer” appeared before journalists for the first time at the “Leverkusen” headquarters. On top of the shirt, Bill Anderson wore a light blue jacket, in pants and sneakers, the American looked relaxed and youthful, despite his 56 years. His inaugural speech showed that the new man at the helm wants to stand up for a new management style and a culture change at the group: “I’m impartial and open to any input,” he said.
Anderson knows the most pressing questions he needs to answer to lead Bayer to that successful future: Will he split the company? Can it finally shake off the burden of US glyphosate lawsuits? The future general director has no specific answers yet. He has only owned it since April 1st to the Board of Bayer, taking the position of chairman in June. He said his job in the group is clear: “We all want to create the best possible future for Bayer.”
